Plans, admin and data rules for a ChatGPT rollout

Small team: Plus or Business
A small desk can start on individual Plus accounts. Once staff need to share projects and keep business data under workspace controls, ChatGPT Business is usually the better fit.
Resort group: Business or Enterprise
Business adds a shared workspace and admin controls. Enterprise adds the larger-organisation features — identity management, role-based access and data residency options — that a multi-property group may need.
UAE data residency
UAE data residency is offered on specific plans and changes which models and features are available, so turn it on only if a contract or regulator requires it.
Custom GPTs are being retired
OpenAI is retiring Custom GPTs: no new ones after 26 October 2026, and existing ones stop on 11 December 2026. Useful GPTs need rebuilding before then.
Data rules by organisation
Private resorts, dive centres and shops fall under the UAE PDPL (Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021). Government bodies such as the Ports Authority and government schools follow their own policies, and health data has sector rules.

Yes, with a check. Draft in your tone, produce the translation, then ask for a back-translation into English to confirm the meaning. Refunds and complaints still go to a supervisor.
Is voice mode suitable for staff on the move?
It works well for turning a spoken shift summary into a structured handover. Guest names, room numbers and booking references are never spoken into it, and a supervisor reads the result before filing.
We built Custom GPTs for review replies. What now?
Rebuild them before 11 December 2026, when existing Custom GPTs stop working. Instructions and knowledge files can move into a project; any custom actions need rebuilding.
Can port, municipal or hospital staff use ChatGPT at all?
Only if their entity approves it. Government bodies are outside the UAE PDPL and follow their own policies, and Emirates Health Services has health-data rules. Those sessions use anonymised or invented examples and non-clinical work.
Do we need our ChatGPT data kept in the UAE?
Only if a contract or regulator requires it. UAE data residency is available on specific plans and limits some models and features, so most small Dibba businesses do better with clear data rules on a standard business plan.
