CHATGPT ENTERPRISE IN THE UAE
UAE data handling for ChatGPT Enterprise rollouts
ChatGPT Enterprise and Business workspaces give organisations admin controls, single sign-on and a commitment that business data is not used to train OpenAI’s models by default. That makes them very different from staff using personal ChatGPT accounts, but it does not remove your own obligations under UAE data law.
Which rules apply depends on where you sit. DIFC firms follow the DIFC Data Protection Law No. 5 of 2020 and Regulation 10, which addresses personal data processed through AI and autonomous systems. Most other private organisations follow the federal PDPL, Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021. Government entities follow their own policies. Training builds your applicable rules into every project and prompt template.
Data residency matters too. Where a workspace is configured for in-region data residency, some models and features may not be available, so we confirm your workspace configuration before designing the session. Large UAE employers are moving quickly: Emirates Group has publicly announced work with OpenAI, and Digital Dubai’s AI+ programme is training 50,000 government employees. Private employers need the same discipline at desk level.
