The usual routine
Shift supervisors fill batch cards with raw material issued and output produced. At month end, the office keys these into a spreadsheet, calculates yield against the standard for each product, compares it with last month and writes a short note on the worst batches. By the time the owner reads it, the next month is half over.
With Cowork
- Scanned or typed batch cards for the week, the product standards sheet and the report format go into a working folder of copies.
- The brief explains how yield is calculated for each product, which units to use and what counts as a deviation worth flagging.
- Cowork builds the yield workbook with formulas, highlights batches below standard and lists any batch card it couldn’t read properly.
- It drafts a short note for the owner on the three biggest deviations, with the raw figures beside each.
- The routine becomes a weekly scheduled task, so the report is waiting every Monday morning instead of at month end.
The production manager still checks the flagged batches against the cards. Cowork never changes plant records; it only reads copies and writes a report.
