◆ AL DHANNAH (RUWAIS) · AL DHAFRA REGION

Generative AI Trainer in Al Ruwais — Hitesh Motwani

I work as a Generative AI Trainer in Al Ruwais for the people who write and check the paperwork behind the plants: engineers, HSE advisers, planners, contracts staff and EPC document teams in Al Dhannah, the town’s official name. We practise on your approved AI tools and sanitised versions of your own document types.

Most sessions run live online, timed around shift rotations. For a room day, I travel the roughly 240 km from Abu Dhabi to your site or a venue you nominate.

◆ WHAT YOU GET

What hiring me gives a Ruwais team

A general AI course shows what the tools can do. An industrial site also needs to know what staff are allowed to do, and where a human signature stays mandatory.

Exercises built on your document types
I ask for sanitised samples first: a redacted method statement, an old shift-log template, a public standard you work to. Exercises follow those formats.
Rules that fit a restricted-network site
Every exercise states its data and its tool. People leave knowing what never goes into a personal chatbot: drawings, P&IDs, process data, personnel records.
Drafts a checker can trace
Prompts that return clause numbers, page references and a 'not found in source' flag, so a reviewer verifies line by line instead of rereading everything.
A 30-day plan after the session
Three workflows per person, a shared team prompt sheet, and an online clinic a few weeks later to fix whatever broke in real use.
◆ THE ROLE

What a Generative AI Trainer in Al Ruwais should actually do for an industrial team

The job is not to demonstrate a chatbot. It is to find the ten or twelve reading and writing tasks that consume a team’s week, rebuild each as a repeatable prompt pattern, and teach people to check the output before it goes near a permit, a contract or an auditor.

On a site like Al Dhannah that adds three duties: working inside the tool your employer has sanctioned; being blunt about what generative AI gets wrong (arithmetic in long documents, invented clause numbers, confident summaries of pages it never read); and keeping engineering judgement, safety sign-off and commercial decisions with named people.

◆ WHY AL DHANNAH

Why document-heavy work in Al Dhannah suits generative AI

Al Ruwais was planned in the 1970s as a self-contained industrial town, and the complex was inaugurated in 1982. ADNOC developed and runs the industrial and housing complex, and its refinery is widely cited at around 922,000 barrels a day. Around it sit Borouge’s polyolefin complex, Fertiglobe’s Fertil plant, ADNOC Gas processing and the TA’ZIZ chemicals zone.

That mix generates an unusual volume of controlled writing. Borouge says more than 25,000 people were on site at the peak of Borouge 4. Ruwais LNG expects commercial operations in 2028, and ADNOC Gas broke ground on NGL Train 5 in late September 2026. Each project runs on method statements, transmittals, technical queries and handover packs.

AI is not new here. The National reported that ADNOC rolled out Microsoft Copilot company-wide from November 2023 and that more than 40,000 employees completed AI training. Borouge’s January 2026 autonomous-operations trial with Honeywell is control-room AI, unrelated to my sessions. My work is on the desk side: helping people who already have a tool use it well on weekly documents. The UAE National Strategy for AI 2031 also names energy as a priority sector.

◆ WHO I TRAIN HERE

Teams in Al Dhannah I design sessions for

Groups learn fastest when they share a document family, so I build sessions by role.

Process, reliability and maintenance engineers
Root-cause write-ups, management-of-change packs, turnaround scopes and licensor manuals.
HSE advisers and supervisors
Risk assessments, toolbox talks, audit findings, incident-report structure and HAZOP or HAZID action tracking.
Maintenance planners and schedulers
Work-order descriptions, job packs, spares justifications and shutdown lessons-learned.
Procurement and contracts
Scopes of work, tender clarifications, bid-evaluation summaries and In-Country Value documentation checks.
Project controls and document control
Weekly progress narratives, RFI and technical-query logs, transmittal summaries and interface minutes on EPC packages.
Training departments and HR
SOPs turned into assessments, onboarding packs for newly formed companies, competency-matrix drafts.
Teachers and school administrators
Differentiated worksheets, marking rubrics, parent letters and timetable communications.
Hospital administration
Policy redrafting, meeting summaries and accreditation-evidence indexing, with patient data kept out entirely.
◆ BEFORE AND AFTER

Workflows Ruwais teams can use the morning after

Each example uses sanitised or public material on your approved tool. None removes the reviewer; they remove the blank page and the retyping.

Engineering standard to checklist with clause references
Before: an engineer reads a long standard or vendor manual and types a compliance checklist by hand. After: a licensed or public copy goes into an approved tool with a prompt that returns each requirement as a checklist line with its clause number, plus anything it could not locate. The engineer spot-checks references against the source before use.
Scope description to draft method statement
Before: the last method statement is copied, carrying old hazards into a new job. After: your template plus a written scope gives a first draft of sequence, resources and hazards, and a list of open questions. A competent person reviews and signs; the AI never does.
Method statement to toolbox talk
Before: supervisors improvise the morning briefing. After: the approved method statement becomes a five-minute plain-English talk with three check questions, plus a second-language version for a bilingual supervisor to correct.
SOP to training assessment
Before: trainers write quiz questions from scratch for every revised procedure. After: the SOP becomes scenario questions mapped to its step numbers, with an answer key the trainer edits, regenerated at each revision.
Rough notes to structured shift handover
Before: handover notes vary by person and open items slip. After: notes go into a fixed template (live permits, equipment out of service, deviations, actions with owners) read in the same order every shift. Process values stay in plant systems, not in the prompt.
Bidder queries to tender clarifications
Before: a contracts engineer answers forty overlapping questions one at a time. After: queries are grouped, de-duplicated and matched to tender sections, with draft replies for approval and ICV-related questions flagged for the specialist.
Structured inputs to weekly progress narrative
Before: project controls rebuild the same report weekly. After: the progress table and last week's narrative produce a draft surfacing variances and open technical queries, which the planner corrects and releases.
Your own working day
Minutes with actions and owners, emails in the right register, research summaries that keep their sources, and clearer English technical writing.

◆ HOW I WORK

My approach, and the evidence behind it

I am Hitesh Motwani, a corporate generative AI trainer and the founder of Skillopedia, a registered UAE company (Skillopedia FZC LLC), working with UAE teams on-site and online. I have spent 17+ years training professionals and have focused on generative AI since 2023. I wrote Generative AI 360° (ZebraLearn, 2025), a 472-page practical guide to ChatGPT, image tools and no-code AI workflows for professionals.

For plant and project teams, every exercise starts from a real document type, every prompt pattern includes a checking step, and every session ends with named owners for the agreed workflows.

  • More than 200,000 professionals trained across my career in digital marketing and AI, and 600+ organisations on Skillopedia’s published client list, across 16+ countries (my and Skillopedia’s records)
  • A 4.8/5 average post-session rating across 300+ surveyed participants (Skillopedia’s records)
  • Listed as visiting faculty at K J Somaiya Institute of Management
  • Guest on Tata Tele Business Services’ Do Big podcast on generative AI for SMEs (December 2023)
  • Sessions are delivered in English; I deliver leadership sessions personally, and larger multi-cohort work is supported by facilitators trained on the same method

◆ ROLLING IT OUT

Using generative AI safely in a restricted-network organisation

Owner companies, EPC contractors, schools and hospitals in Al Dhannah each set their own rules. I don’t assume yours or describe any company’s policy on its behalf. I ask for your approved-tool list and data-classification guide first, and build exercises to fit inside them.

Where nothing is written down yet, I suggest a team agrees these working rules. They are general good practice, not any employer’s policy:

On data law: the UAE Personal Data Protection Law (Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021) covers private-sector handling of personal data, relevant to HR and contractor-personnel files. It does not apply to government entities or their data, and health data has its own sector rules, so hospital and public-sector staff follow their entity’s policies.

Measurement stays simple: time three workflows before the session and again four weeks later, and count how many AI drafts needed major rework. For organisation-wide rollouts with several cohorts, I point clients to Skillopedia’s enterprise AI training programmes.

  • Use only AI tools your IT or information-security team has approved, on the accounts they issued.
  • Keep drawings, P&IDs, process data, unpublished project documents and personnel records out of personal or public AI accounts.
  • Practise on sanitised extracts, licensed standards or synthetic examples.
  • Treat any AI draft of a safety-critical or contractual document as unreviewed until a named person signs it.
  • Record which workflows use AI so audit and quality teams can see it.
◆ SECTORS

Al Dhannah's sectors and where generative AI fits each

Facts below come from public sources. Naming an organisation describes the local economy; it does not mean it is my client.

Refining
ADNOC Refining, a joint venture of ADNOC, Eni and OMV, runs a 24/7 research centre at Ruwais. Fit: condensing vendor documentation, turnaround lessons-learned, lab-report summaries.
Polymers
Borouge says Borouge 4 will make the site the world's largest single-site polyolefin complex. Fit: commissioning records, QA/QC reports, customer technical replies.
Fertilisers and low-carbon ammonia
Fertiglobe's Fertil plant has run here since 1983; its 1 Mtpa low-carbon ammonia plant at TA'ZIZ is targeted for 2027. Fit: sustainability-report drafts, procedure conversion.
Gas and LNG
Ruwais LNG (9.6 Mtpa) is being built by Technip Energies, JGC and NMDC Energy. Fit: interface management, RFI and technical-query logs, progress reporting.
Industrial chemicals
TA'ZIZ targets 4.7 Mtpa of chemicals by 2028, with a Light Industrial Zone of 249 plots. Fit: young companies writing SOPs, onboarding packs and HR policies from scratch.
Utilities, education and health
The Shuweihat power and water complex; ADNOC Schools' Ruwais campus; HCT's Al Dhanna campus, set up for evening study by Emirati petrochemical employees; the ADNOC Technical Academy campus (opened March 2024); and Al Dhannah Hospital, run by Burjeel Medical City for ADNOC. Fit: O&M reporting, lesson resources, non-clinical administration.
◆ AL DHAFRA REGION

Beyond Al Dhannah: working with teams across Al Dhafra

Al Dhafra is large and thinly spread: the 2023 census counted 284,205 residents across the region, about 7% of the emirate. Its municipality groups the main areas as Madinat Zayed, Al Mirfa, Liwa, Ghayathi, Delma and Al Sila. Outside Al Dhannah, live online is usually the practical choice; for a shared room day, Al Dhannah or Madinat Zayed make sensible meeting points.

Etihad Rail’s passenger stations at Madinat Zayed and Liwa are scheduled to open on 30 November 2026, and Al Dhannah, Al Mirfa and Al Sila on 30 December 2026. Until then, plan on the E11.

Al Sila & Ghuwaifat
Al Sila lies about 350 km west of Abu Dhabi, and its municipal area runs to the Saudi border at Ghuwaifat. Its hospital, school, municipal, customs and harbour teams have their own page, for public-service and border teams in Al Sila.
Madinat Zayed
HCT's Madinat Zayed campus and a SEHA Al Dhafra hospital, with one of the first western rail stations. A practical venue for a regional cohort.
Liwa and Ghayathi
Main municipal areas with SEHA hospitals; public-sector and health-admin teams are usually best served online.
Al Mirfa and Delma
Al Mirfa's station is scheduled with Al Dhannah's. Delma's ferries leave from the Jebel Dhanna area, so island staff normally join online.
◆ NAMED EXAMPLES

Named examples, and why they matter to plant and project teams

None of these organisations is in Al Dhafra, and I have no Ruwais client to cite. Each is here because its situation resembles work in Al Dhannah.

Indorama: plant teams in three countries
Generative AI and NotebookLM workshops for plant and corporate teams in Nigeria, India and Indonesia, with prompt playbooks for fertiliser and manufacturing functions: the closest parallel to Ruwais process plants. “This program has been incredibly helpful — enhancing efficiency and providing quick, accurate information that supports decision-making and problem-solving.” (Arun Kumar, Engineer, Indorama)
Beroe: procurement research across several AI tools
Research managers and analysts practised multiple AI tools and data analysis for procurement intelligence, close to tender evaluation and supplier research for contracts teams.
JSW Paints and Action Construction Equipment
Manufacturing and engineering mid-managers: the layer that runs maintenance planning, quality and project controls on a plant.
Jeebly and Transworld Group: UAE and GCC leadership
An AI Excellence Workshop for Jeebly's leadership team in Dubai (September 2026) on tool choice, when a quick assistant beats a more autonomous agent, and prompting. Also hands-on leadership training for Transworld Group, run as four batches of 25 per Skillopedia's published case record. Relevant for managers deciding how far AI should go.
◆ DELIVERY

How delivery works when the site is 240 km from Abu Dhabi

Al Dhannah is about 240 km west of Abu Dhabi, roughly two to two and a half hours on the E11. That shapes the format: live online is the default, and on-site days are arranged well ahead, usually with an overnight stay.

Sessions are delivered in English. Contracting is through Skillopedia FZC LLC, a registered UAE company; an NDA is available. Pricing reflects format, group size, document preparation and travel; the written quote lists travel and accommodation separately.

Live online blocks
Two-hour sessions over one or two weeks, timed around shift rotations so both crews attend. Suits mixed sites and staff in Al Sila, Liwa or Ghayathi.
On-site day, by arrangement
A full hands-on day at your site or a venue you nominate, for one team and one document family.
Hybrid
One room day to build workflows, then online clinics to fix what did not survive real use.
Leadership briefing
Ninety minutes for managers on what to allow, what to measure and what must stay human.
Coaching and train-the-trainer
One-to-one or small-group coaching, and preparation for in-house trainers who carry the material to later intakes.
◆ QUESTIONS

Questions Al Dhannah teams ask before booking

Straight answers on travel, tools, data and what changes afterwards.

Yes. Al Dhannah is the town’s official name; Al Ruwais is the former name, still used for the refinery and industrial area. This page uses both because people search for both.

Yes to both for the sessions I run. On-site days are booked well ahead because of the distance and usually need an overnight stay, which is why many teams choose live online. Larger multi-cohort programmes use facilitators trained on the same method.

Depth for your role. Company-wide programmes explain the tool; a team session works through how its method statements, handovers or tender clarifications should be drafted and checked. I teach on the tool you already have.

Yes, with preparation. I work from your approved-tool list and data-classification guide, using sanitised extracts, licensed standards or synthetic examples. Drawings, P&IDs, process data and personnel records stay out of every exercise.

Yes. EPC document controllers, interface coordinators and proposal teams often gain the most because their work is high-volume and template-driven. A contractor can book directly for its own people.

Exercises on industrial document types such as method statements, toolbox talks, technical-query logs and shift handovers, with delivery planned around shifts and distance. City courses suit general literacy but rarely touch permit-to-work paperwork.

No. AI produces a first draft and a list of open questions; a competent, named person reviews, corrects and signs. The session teaches reviewers to spot invented references and missing hazards.

Each person should have three workflows running on real tasks, the team a shared prompt sheet, and everyone the same checking routine for AI drafts. The follow-up clinic handles whatever did not work.

Yes, usually live online or at a shared room day in Al Dhannah or Madinat Zayed. For Al Sila and Ghuwaifat teams, the separate Al Sila page sets out the public-service, customs and harbour workflows; Madinat Zayed teams usually join the Al Dhannah or online groups.
