How it usually goes
Each garden manager sends a spreadsheet in a slightly different layout. An executive copies the figures into the master sheet, works out made tea against the same week last year, checks dispatches against the broker’s catalogue entries and writes a few lines of commentary. It takes most of a Monday, and a single pasted row in the wrong column can go unnoticed for weeks.
How it goes with Cowork
- The week’s garden files, last year’s comparison sheet and the report template go into one working folder, as copies.
- The brief names the fields to pick up from each garden file, the comparison to make and the format of the final report.
- Cowork builds the consolidated workbook with live formulas, and lists any garden file it could not read cleanly or any figure that looks out of range.
- It drafts a short commentary on the gardens that moved most against last year, for the executive to edit.
- Once it works, the brief is saved as a Skill, so next Monday starts with one instruction.
The executive still checks the totals against the garden files before the report goes up. What changes is the copying, not the responsibility.
