Agentic AI providers in Surrey, side by side
Surrey has no shortage of firms that say “AI”. Far fewer will actually build, configure or teach AI agents: software that plans steps, uses tools such as your inbox, CRM or spreadsheets, and finishes a task with a person checking the result. These eleven do one or more of those things, and they say so on their own websites.

How we picked them
This is an editorial list published on Hitesh Motwani’s own website. We searched for providers that are based in Surrey or openly serve Surrey towns such as Guildford, Woking, Reigate, Epsom, Dorking, Farnham and Camberley, then read each one’s website in October 2026. Firms whose agent claims we could not confirm were left out, nobody paid to appear and there are no ratings. For a nationwide view of agent training, see the top agentic AI trainers in the UK.
What agentic AI providers do: build, consult or train
An AI agent is more than a chatbot. A chatbot answers questions. An agent is given a goal, decides on steps, uses tools such as email, a calendar, a CRM or a spreadsheet, and either finishes the job or hands it to a person for approval. Providers help in three different ways, and most Surrey firms are strongest at one of them.
| Builders | Consultants | Trainers | |
|---|---|---|---|
| What you get | A working agent or automation, connected to your systems | A shortlist of use cases, a roadmap, policies and a business case | Staff who can build simple agents, brief a builder and check what agents do |
| Typical first step | A discovery or scoping phase on one process | A diagnostic or readiness assessment | A workshop on the team’s own tasks |
| You still need | Someone inside who owns the agent and reviews its output | A builder, or in-house skills, to deliver the roadmap | Time to practise, and a builder for anything complex |
| Main risk | An agent nobody understands once the contractor leaves | A strategy deck that never ships | Enthusiasm without governance |
| On this list | Ronins, Surrey Technical, On The Hill AI, BW Marketing, Breezi Ai | Agentic AI Associates, Cow-Shed, Ronins | Hitesh Motwani, Surrey AI, NobleProg UK, Breezi Ai |
A practical order: many Surrey SMEs get the best value by training one team first, then hiring a builder for the one or two agents that team has proved are worth automating.

Surrey’s business landscape and where agents fit
Surrey is not a single market. A Guildford games studio, a Woking engineering group, an Epsom headquarters and a Reigate accountancy practice will want very different agents. A few verifiable facts help explain the mix.
Research and talent in Guildford
- Surrey Research Park was established in 1985 and is owned and run by the University of Surrey; the university says it hosts nearly 200 companies
- In April 2026 the park reported LinkedIn data showing 1.76% of Guildford’s LinkedIn members work in AI roles, one of the highest AI talent densities anywhere
- The university’s Surrey Institute for People-Centred AI works with industry on healthcare, education, sustainable AI and AI safety
A games cluster with AI roots
- Guildford’s games scene grew out of Bullfrog, founded in 1987, and later Lionhead, where Demis Hassabis did early practical AI work on games
- Studios linked to the town include Media Molecule, Criterion, Supermassive Games, Hello Games and 22cans
- Trade press has counted more than 50 games companies in the area
Headquarters and service firms
- Toyota (GB) has had its headquarters at Great Burgh, near Epsom, since 2001
- Woking is home to McLaren’s headquarters, and the county’s towns host many professional services, logistics and hospitality firms
- Most Surrey businesses are SMEs, which is why fixed-price builds and short workshops dominate the local offer
Agent ideas that suit Surrey sectors
| Sector | A sensible first agent | Keep a person on |
|---|---|---|
| Professional services (Reigate, Guildford, Woking) | Triage of incoming client emails into matters, with draft replies | Anything that is advice, or goes to a client |
| Logistics and transport | Matching supplier invoices to delivery records and flagging gaps | Payments and disputes |
| Hospitality and multi-site retail | Booking and enquiry handling out of hours | Refunds, complaints and allergies |
| Engineering and manufacturing | Searching manuals and past job sheets to draft a fix for an engineer | Safety-critical decisions |
| Life sciences and regulated firms | Literature and document search inside an approved, logged environment | Every regulatory submission |
| Games and digital studios | Build, test and bug-report summarisation for producers | Release and player-facing decisions |

UK GDPR, the ICO and UK AI regulation
Agents raise the stakes on data protection because they act, not just answer. They read inboxes, open files and update records, sometimes across several suppliers’ systems at once. None of that is banned in the UK; it simply has to be done lawfully and with someone accountable.
What UK GDPR asks of an agent project
- A named owner: your organisation stays responsible for what the agent does with personal data, however autonomous it is
- Clear roles in the supply chain: work out who is controller and who is processor when an agent strings together several vendors’ tools, and put it in contracts
- A DPIA when risk is high: update it as the agent gains access to new systems
- Least privilege: give the agent only the folders, mailboxes and permissions the task needs
- Checkpoints: verify information at the moments that matter, and tell people when an automated decision affects them
What the regulators are saying
- On 8 January 2026 the ICO published a Tech Futures report on agentic AI. It stresses that agent autonomy does not remove organisational responsibility. It is not formal guidance.
- The ICO’s wider AI and data protection guidance still applies to any agent that handles personal data.
- The UK has no single AI Act. Government policy relies on existing regulators and laws, such as data protection, competition, equality and sector rules (the FCA for financial firms, the MHRA for medicines), applied to AI. A dedicated AI bill has been debated, so watch for change.
Note: a plain-English overview checked in October 2026, not legal advice. Ask your data protection officer or a solicitor about your own agent before it goes live.
How to choose an agentic AI provider in Surrey
The right provider depends on whether you need something built, a plan, or people who can do it themselves. Use the checklist, put the questions in the table to every shortlisted firm, and compare written answers.
Buyer checklist
- Pick one process with a clear owner and a measurable before-and-after
- List the systems the agent must touch and who controls access
- Decide what the agent may do alone and what needs approval
- Ask for a fixed-price discovery before a full build
- Agree who owns the result and how you could move it
- Budget for running costs and for training the owner
Red flags
- Guaranteed savings or headcount cuts before anyone has seen your process
- “Fully autonomous” agents with no approval steps
- No answer on where your data is processed
- Your agent locked inside the supplier’s account with no exit
- Badges or partnerships you cannot check on the vendor’s own site
Questions that separate strong providers from weak ones
| Ask the provider | A worrying answer | A reassuring answer |
|---|---|---|
| Show me an agent you have built or taught, working | Screenshots and logos only | A live demo, or a reference you can call |
| Who owns what you build? | “It runs on our platform” with no exit terms | You own the workflows, prompts and accounts, or exit terms are written down |
| Where does our data go? | Not sure, or a consumer AI account | Named services, regions and contracts; UK GDPR roles explained |
| What will the agent never do without a person? | “It is fully autonomous” | A list of approval points, set with you |
| What does it cost to run each month? | Only the build price is mentioned | Model, hosting, licence and support costs set out |
What agent projects cost in Surrey: published prices
| Provider | What is priced | Published price (October 2026) |
|---|---|---|
| On The Hill AI | Discovery / implementation | £1,500 fixed / £3,000–£20,000 (most SMEs £5,000–£12,000) |
| BW Marketing | Website AI agent | £4,350 build + £450 a month |
| Agentic AI Associates | Diagnostic / build / retained | £6,500 / £850 a day / £10,000 a month |

Agentic AI in Surrey: common questions
Still deciding between a builder, a consultant and training? Send a short note about your process and tools and we will give you an honest view.
This guide lists eleven: Hitesh Motwani (training, our editorial pick), Ronins, Agentic AI Associates, Surrey Technical, On The Hill AI, BW Marketing, Breezi Ai, Cow-Shed, Surrey AI, the University of Surrey’s People-Centred AI institute and NobleProg UK. The right one depends on whether you need a build, a strategy or trained staff. See the comparison table.
Builders connect agents to your systems, consultants decide where agents should go and how to govern them, and trainers teach your staff to build and supervise agents. See build, consult or train.
A chatbot answers questions. An agent works towards a goal by taking actions, such as reading an inbox, updating a spreadsheet or drafting a reply, usually with a person approving the important steps.
Published prices in October 2026 ran from a £1,500 discovery and £3,000–£20,000 builds (On The Hill AI) to £4,350 plus £450 a month for a website agent (BW Marketing). Add running costs such as model usage and licences. See published prices.
Yes. Ronins has an office on London Road, Breezi Ai gives a Bury Street address and Cow-Shed is a Guildford AI consultancy. The University of Surrey and Surrey Research Park are in Guildford too.
If nobody inside can yet judge a good agent idea, training first usually saves money: people then brief builders well and spot problems early. A fixed-price discovery with a builder can run alongside.
Yes. Organisations can create Copilot agents with instructions and knowledge sources, and use Copilot Studio for more advanced ones. Surrey Technical builds them, and Hitesh trains teams to create their own.
Yes, within UK GDPR: a lawful basis, minimal access, clear controller and processor roles, a DPIA where risk is high and human checks on decisions about people. The ICO says organisations stay responsible for what their agents do. See the rules.
Its People-Centred AI institute offers Knowledge Transfer Partnerships, research consultancy, student projects and co-funded PhDs. These suit problems that need research and can run over months.
Published Surrey examples range from a five-day discovery to a four-to-six-week launch for a website agent. A team can build a simple personal agent in one workshop; connected agents take longer to test safely.
No. He is based in Mumbai and works with UK teams live online on UK business hours, with on-site visits by arrangement for larger groups.
It is an editorial list on Hitesh Motwani’s website, and he is listed first. Every other provider was checked on its own website in October 2026 and linked as a source. Nobody paid to appear, and there are no ratings.
