The task
A matter file of two hundred pages: pleadings, annexures, orders and correspondence, scanned at different times and named inconsistently. Before filing, someone has to prepare a chronological list of dates and events and an index with page numbers, then check that every annexure referred to in the petition is actually in the bundle.
How Cowork handles it
- Copies of the file go into a working folder for that matter alone.
- The brief explains the chamber’s index format, how dates should be written and what counts as an annexure.
- Cowork reads the documents and drafts the list of dates, each entry citing the page it came from.
- It builds the index in Word and lists any annexure mentioned in the petition that it cannot find in the bundle.
- The junior checks every entry against the page cited before it goes to the senior.
Cowork drafts and cross-checks. Legal judgement, the final bundle and anything filed stay with the advocate.
