An illustrative Track B exercise. All documents are masked in the real session.
The task
Before a consignment is released, the documentation team checks that the commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading and the letter of credit terms agree with each other: consignee, ports, descriptions, quantities, weights, dates and marks. It is careful, slow work, and a single mismatch can delay payment.
With AI
- The documents for one shipment go into an approved AI tool as PDFs.
- A saved prompt extracts the key fields from each document into one comparison table.
- The tool lists every mismatch, quoting the exact text from each document so it can be checked in seconds.
- It drafts a short note to the shipper listing what must be corrected.
- The documentation executive reviews every flagged item and the note before anything is sent or filed.
The same pattern works for contract comparison in a law firm, circular summaries in a bank and board-paper preparation in a group head office: extract, compare, quote the source, and keep a person in charge of the decision.
