Claude Cowork Training in Dubai, on your team’s real files

Plenty of Dubai companies already pay for Claude, and most of their people still use it like a chat box: paste something in, copy something out. Cowork is a different way of working. You point Claude at a folder, describe the result you want, and it plans the steps, works through your files and hands back a finished spreadsheet, deck or document.

I run hands-on Cowork sessions for Dubai teams. Each person works on their own tasks, so they leave knowing how to brief Cowork properly, check what it produces, and decide what it should never be allowed to touch.

Chat versus Cowork

What Cowork does that the chat window doesn’t

In chat, you do the legwork: find the files, paste the extracts, rebuild the answer in Excel yourself. In Cowork, Claude does that legwork, and your job becomes giving a clear brief and checking the result.

Anthropic made Cowork generally available in the Claude desktop app for macOS and Windows in April 2026, and it has since come to the web and mobile apps. It is included in the paid plans (Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise). On the desktop it can read and create files in a folder you choose. It can split a large job across sub-agents, produce Excel files with working formulas, PowerPoint decks and Word documents, and run a task on a schedule.

That power is exactly why training matters. Someone who writes a vague one-line request gets a vague result, only now it is spread across forty files. A clear brief, a sensible folder and the right approval setting make the difference.

Good first tasks for Dubai teams

  • Turning a folder of PDFs into one comparison sheet
  • Building a weekly report from several exports
  • First drafts of proposals from your own past proposals
  • Cleaning and merging contact or product lists
  • Reformatting one document into many versions

Not good first tasks: anything involving bank portals, passwords or sending messages to clients without a person checking.

A Dubai example

The week after a trade show at Dubai World Trade Centre

Exhibitions are a big part of doing business in Dubai, and the follow-up is where leads go cold. This is the kind of task I use in sessions with sales and marketing teams, because everyone recognises it.

Before Cowork

The stand team comes back with a badge-scan export, photos of business cards and a page of handwritten notes. Over the next week somebody merges the lists by hand, guesses which leads matter, and writes follow-up emails one at a time. By the time the last email goes out, the visitor has forgotten the stand.

With Cowork

  1. Everything goes into one folder: the scan export, the card photos and the notes.
  2. The brief explains who counts as a priority lead, what each product line offers, and the tone your company uses.
  3. Cowork reads the photos, merges and de-duplicates the contacts, and builds a spreadsheet with a priority column and a reason for each rating.
  4. It drafts a follow-up email for each segment in a Word document, ready for the sales team to edit.
  5. A one-page summary for the sales head shows lead counts by country, sector and product interest.

People still decide who gets which email, and people still press send. What disappears is the merging and formatting that used to take most of the week.

How a session runs

What you bring, what we build, what you take back

There is very little lecturing. Each participant needs a laptop with the Claude desktop app and a paid Claude seat, and preferably a small folder of non-sensitive work files.

You bring
  • Two or three tasks that take hours every week
  • Sample files, redacted where needed
  • Your company’s rules on AI and data, if you have them
We build in the room
  • A working folder layout for each person
  • Briefs that get the right result the first time
  • A review habit for every output
  • One saved Skill for a repeat task
You leave with
  • At least one task each person now gives to Cowork
  • A short list of what Cowork must not touch
  • A scheduled task, where it makes sense
  • A 30-day check-in on what stuck

Check the return on your own numbers

I don’t publish other companies’ savings, because I can’t verify what happened in their business after the session. This calculator uses only your inputs and updates as you type. Nothing is sent anywhere.

Based on your inputs

—

of working time freed up per year, at your own blended cost

Hours freed per month—
Value per month—
Pays for itself—
First-year return on spend—
—

A caution. Freed-up hours only count if they go somewhere: faster turnaround, more clients handled, or a hire you can delay. That’s why I check back 30 days after the session to see which tasks actually moved to Cowork.

Dubai use cases

Where Dubai teams use Cowork first

These come from the kinds of businesses that make up much of Dubai’s economy. In each case, Cowork does the gathering and formatting, and a person keeps the judgement.

E-commerce sellers on noon and Amazon.ae
Before

Marketplace settlement reports are checked against the order export by hand, line by line.

After

Cowork matches the two files, lists every order that doesn’t reconcile, and explains why, in a sheet your accountant can check.

Recruitment agencies
Before

A recruiter reads 80 CVs against a job description and writes a shortlist note for the client.

After

Cowork scores CVs against the criteria you set and drafts the shortlist note. The recruiter reviews every decision, because CVs are personal data and hiring calls belong to people.

Restaurant and café groups
Before

Supplier price lists arrive in different formats, and nobody notices that one outlet pays more for the same item.

After

A weekly scheduled task merges the price lists and flags any item where the price moved or differs between outlets.

Family-owned groups
Before

The monthly board pack is assembled from six departments’ files the night before the meeting.

After

Cowork builds a first version of the pack from the department folders, with a list of figures it could not find, so the finance team chases gaps early.

Agencies and in-house marketing
Before

Campaign data is exported from several platforms and rebuilt into a client deck every month.

After

Cowork turns the exports into a deck in your template. The account manager writes the commentary that actually needs a human.

Consultancies and training firms
Before

Each new proposal starts from a blank page or a copy of the last one, with the old client’s name still in it.

After

Cowork drafts from a folder of approved past proposals and your rate card, and lists every assumption it made for you to confirm.

Safe use

Ground rules before Cowork touches company files

Cowork acts on your behalf, so a mistake is not limited to a bad paragraph. Anthropic’s own safety guidance names the main risks: instructions hidden in web pages, emails or documents (prompt injection), files deleted by accident, sensitive data or credentials exposed, and scheduled tasks running while nobody is watching. Anthropic is also clear that the user stays responsible for what Claude does.

In every Dubai session we set practical rules: a dedicated working folder rather than the whole drive, approval settings that ask before acting while people are learning, deletion protection left on, no banking or government portals, and no automatic messages to clients. Where your company uses Claude Team or Enterprise, I walk your admin through the controls that apply to Cowork, such as turning it on for specific teams, restricting browser access and deciding which connectors may write data.

Data rules depend on where you are licensed. Companies in DIFC fall under the DIFC Data Protection Law, and most mainland and free-zone companies under the federal PDPL. I explain how those rules affect what goes into a Cowork folder, but I don’t give legal advice. Your DPO or counsel is welcome in the room. If you need the policy side first, see AI governance training in Dubai.

Who should attend

Who runs it

About Hitesh Motwani

I am a corporate AI trainer and the author of Generative AI 360°, published by ZebraLearn in 2025. I train teams on Claude, ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot and Gemini, and I have been a visiting faculty member at K J Somaiya. In Dubai, my recent work includes an AI Excellence Workshop for Jeebly’s leadership team in September 2026, which the company described in its own LinkedIn post.

I’ll be straight about one thing: Cowork is still a young product, so nobody has years of client results with it. What I bring is hands-on practice with Claude, plus experience of what makes people in a room keep using a tool after the trainer leaves.

Before you book

  • Everyone needs a paid Claude plan with Cowork available
  • Install the Claude desktop app beforehand
  • Bring files you are allowed to use with Claude

Questions

Claude Cowork questions from Dubai teams

Do we need Claude Team or Enterprise for Cowork training?

No. Cowork is included in every paid plan, including Pro and Max. Team and Enterprise add admin controls, such as switching Cowork on for selected teams and managing connectors and plugins centrally, which matters once more than a handful of people use it.

Can we mix people from different departments in one Dubai session?

Yes, as long as each person brings their own tasks. Mixed groups often work well, because finance sees what sales does with Cowork and vice versa. For a large group I split the hands-on time by function.

Will Cowork work with our files on SharePoint or Google Drive?

On the desktop, Cowork works with folders on the computer. Cloud files come in through connectors, such as Google Workspace or Microsoft 365, if your admin has enabled them. We check what is available on your plan before the session so nobody hits a wall on the day.

Is our data stored in the UAE?

Anthropic does not currently offer a Middle East data-residency option. Under Anthropic’s commercial terms, data from Team and Enterprise plans is not used to train its models. Whether a given file may go into Cowork is a decision for your data protection rules, and we set those boundaries during the session.

Can Cowork email our clients automatically?

Technically it can act through connected tools, but I advise against it, and Anthropic’s safety guidance warns against scheduled tasks that send messages. In training, Cowork drafts and a person sends.

How quickly will people use Cowork without help?

Most participants hand over at least one real task by the end of a session. Making it a habit takes a few weeks, which is why I check in after 30 days to see which tasks stuck and fix the ones that didn’t.

Is the training delivered in Arabic?

Sessions are delivered in English. Claude can read and write Arabic, so we test Arabic inputs and outputs in the room where your work needs them, and I recommend a native speaker reviews anything that goes out.
