OpenAI runs two separate things: free OpenAI Academy courses with badges, and a formal OpenAI Certified programme that, in October 2026, is invite-only for ChatGPT Enterprise and Edu workspaces.

Which is the best ChatGPT course in India?
For most beginners, OpenAI Academy’s free AI Foundations course is the best start: it is made by OpenAI, takes about 70 minutes and is updated as ChatGPT changes. For a university-backed certificate, take Vanderbilt’s Prompt Engineering for ChatGPT on Coursera. For a team that needs to use ChatGPT on its own work, live hands-on training works better than any video course.
Is there a free ChatGPT course with a certificate?
Yes. OpenAI Academy courses are free and award a badge when you pass the assessment with 80% or more. Simplilearn SkillUp gives a free completion certificate. Great Learning’s course is free to learn, with a fee for the certificate, and Coursera courses are free to enrol, with a paid certificate.
Does OpenAI offer an official ChatGPT certification?
OpenAI runs a formal OpenAI Certified programme, delivered with Coursera and distributed through Credly, but in October 2026 it is invite-only for ChatGPT Enterprise and Edu workspaces. OpenAI Academy badges and pathway certificates are open to everyone, and OpenAI states that they are not certifications.
How much does a ChatGPT course cost in India?
From nothing to tens of thousands of rupees. OpenAI Academy, DeepLearning.AI (during its beta), Simplilearn SkillUp and Coursera’s course for teachers are free. A popular Udemy ChatGPT course sold for ₹639 on sale in October 2026. Live cohort programmes cost more; for example, the AI Accelerator Program on this site shows ₹45,000 as a limited-time price. Corporate training is usually quoted per engagement.
Which ChatGPT course is best for beginners?
OpenAI Academy’s AI Foundations. It needs no technical background, uses a real task of yours as practice, and covers prompting, context, checking answers and responsible use. Follow it with Applied AI Foundations when you are comfortable.
Can I learn ChatGPT in Hindi?
Yes, partly. OpenAI Academy’s India community has some Hindi videos, Udemy and Coursera offer subtitles in many languages, and live trainers such as Hitesh Motwani teach in English and Hindi. ChatGPT itself can answer in Hindi and many other Indian languages, so you can practise in the language you are most comfortable with.
Is there a ChatGPT course in Mumbai?

How long does it take to learn ChatGPT?
You can learn the basics in an afternoon: OpenAI Academy’s first course takes about 70 minutes. Using it well on your own work takes a few weeks of daily practice. The 4-week path on this page, at two to three hours a week, gets most professionals there.
Are custom GPTs still worth learning?
Not as a new skill. OpenAI is retiring custom GPTs on 11 December 2026 (11 February 2027 for Enterprise workspaces with an approved deferral). GPTs can be migrated to plugins, where their instructions become a skill. Learn plugins, skills and Projects instead.
What happened to agent mode and canvas in ChatGPT?
ChatGPT Work arrived on 9 July 2026 for long, multi-step tasks, and OpenAI’s help centre now says ChatGPT agent is no longer available. Canvas was removed from GPT-5.5 Instant and Thinking on 28 May 2026; writing and code now appear in the chat as writing blocks and code blocks. Courses that still teach either are out of date in those modules.
Do I need ChatGPT Plus to take these courses?
No. OpenAI Academy needs only a ChatGPT account, and most other courses work with the free plan. Some features you will learn about, such as ChatGPT Work, need a paid plan; OpenAI rolled Work out to paid plans other than Go.
Should a company buy a ChatGPT course or live training?
Self-paced courses are a cheap way to give everyone the basics. Live training is what changes how a team works: people practise on their own tasks, agree shared prompts and data rules, and get feedback. Many companies do both: OpenAI Academy for everyone, plus hands-on sessions for the teams that use ChatGPT most.
