The task
A subcontractor submits running account bill number 7 for civil works. To check it, someone compares the claimed quantities with the measurement book entries, the work order rates and what was certified in bills 1 to 6, then flags any item claimed above the measured quantity or at the wrong rate.
How Cowork handles it
- The bill, the measurement sheets, the work order and the previous certificates go into one folder.
- The brief explains how the site measures and certifies, and which deviations matter.
- Cowork builds an Excel reconciliation: item, rate, quantity claimed, measured, previously certified and difference, with working formulas.
- It lists every item above measured quantity or with a rate mismatch, and drafts a short query note to the subcontractor.
- The project engineer reviews the exceptions and certifies the bill.
The certification decision stays with the engineer. The difference is that the checking starts from a complete, organised sheet instead of a stack of paper.
