AI Training for Finance Teams in Dubai — faster month-end, numbers you can still trust
Finance teams don’t need AI that sounds clever. They need AI that saves hours at month-end without putting a wrong number in front of the CFO. That is a training problem as much as a tool problem: knowing what to hand over, and how to check it.
I train CFOs, controllers, FP&A, accounts and tax teams in Dubai on the AI tools they already have — Copilot in Excel, ChatGPT data analysis, Gemini in Sheets or Claude — using redacted exports from their own systems.

What a hands-on session for a finance team looks like
Participants work on redacted exports from their own ledger and reporting packs, and every exercise ends with reconciling the AI’s numbers to source.
- Redacted trial balance, ledger or management-account exports
- Last month’s commentary and board pack, redacted
- Your approved AI tools and Excel version
- Variance analysis with the working shown
- First-draft month-end commentary in house style
- A reconciliation check that flags breaks for a person to resolve
- A month-end AI checklist for the team
- Prompt templates for commentary, analysis and policy questions
- Rules on which financial data may be entered
- A 30-day review after the next close
Work out the return on your own numbers
I don’t publish other organisations’ savings, because I can’t verify what happened in their business after I left. This uses your inputs and updates live. Nothing is sent anywhere.

recovered capacity per year, at your own blended cost
Read this honestly. Recovered hours are worth money only if they go somewhere — more cases closed, faster turnaround, hiring you no longer need. That is why each engagement ends with a 30-day review of which outputs actually changed.
Where AI changes finance work in Dubai
Each use case keeps the accountant responsible for the number.
Variance explanations written from scratch every month.
Draft commentary from the actual figures in house style, with every number reconciled before it is sent.
Bank and intercompany breaks hunted line by line.
Unmatched items grouped and explained for a person to investigate and clear.
Complex formulas and pivots depend on one person.
Copilot or ChatGPT builds and explains formulas, with the analyst checking the logic on sample rows.
VAT and corporate tax questions researched from scratch.
A structured first answer pointing to the relevant guidance, for the tax lead to verify against the source.
Scenario models rebuilt for every board question.
Scenarios drafted quickly from the existing model, with assumptions listed so the CFO can challenge them.
Packs assembled the night before.
A first-draft narrative from the numbers, plus the questions a director or lender is likely to ask.
Why finance teams in Dubai need AI training now
UAE finance teams have absorbed a lot in a few years: VAT at 5% since 2018, federal corporate tax at 9% for financial years starting on or after 1 June 2023, transfer-pricing documentation and growing reporting demands from groups and lenders. Headcount has rarely grown at the same pace.
AI is genuinely useful here, for commentary, analysis, research and first drafts. It is also genuinely risky if a confident wrong number reaches a board pack or a tax return. Training builds the reconciliation and source-checking habit into every exercise.
Financial data is commercially sensitive and sometimes personal, so sessions start with what your policy allows into which tool, and use enterprise accounts where business data protections apply.

Can AI be trusted with financial numbers?
Not without checking. AI is strong at drafting, explaining and spotting patterns, but it can produce wrong figures confidently. Training builds reconciliation to source into every exercise.
Which tools work best for finance teams?
Usually the one you already have: Copilot in Excel for Microsoft 365 teams, ChatGPT data analysis, Gemini in Sheets, or Claude for long documents. We use your own tools in the session.
Can AI help with UAE VAT and corporate tax?
It can give a structured first answer and point to the relevant guidance, but tax positions must be confirmed by a qualified person against official Federal Tax Authority and Ministry of Finance sources.
Is our financial data safe in AI tools?
Use enterprise accounts with business data protections, follow your policy on what may be entered, and use redacted exports in training. Sessions set those rules out clearly.
Is this suitable for CFOs as well as accounts teams?
Yes. CFOs usually join a short leadership session on use cases and governance; analysts and accountants do the hands-on day.
Do you train internal audit teams?
Yes. Audit teams use AI for document review, sampling support and report drafting, with extra emphasis on evidence and documentation.
When is the best time to run the training?
Just after a month-end close, so the team applies it at the next close and we review the results at 30 days.
