How Dubai and the wider UAE are building generative AI skills
Dubai treats AI skills as public policy rather than a private perk. In April 2025 the emirate opened the Dubai AI Academy inside the DIFC Innovation Hub, with a goal of educating 10,000 current and emerging leaders alongside Oxford's Saïd Business School, Udacity and Minerva Project. The Dubai Future Foundation's training arm, Dubai Future Academy, adds short practical courses on AI tools and AI in the workplace for professionals and government officials, so leaders now arrive at corporate workshops with some shared vocabulary.
That public groundwork sits under the UAE National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence 2031, which set out to make the country a leader in AI adoption. For employers, the practical questions are narrower: which tools staff may use, what data can go into them, and how to keep Arabic and English speakers learning together. Banking, real estate, retail, aviation and government services are the sectors asking most often, and many want the Federal Personal Data Protection Law reflected in the training itself.

Can generative AI training in Dubai be delivered in Arabic?
Yes. Several providers on this list, Meirc Training and Consulting among them, run Arabic-language GenAI courses for managers, and bilingual delivery is common in Dubai. When I train mixed teams, I keep the prompts and examples in the language people actually work in, because a prompt written in Arabic for an Arabic customer letter behaves differently from a translated English one.
Does the UAE Personal Data Protection Law change what we can paste into ChatGPT or Copilot during training?
It should shape the exercises. Good training shows staff which data classes are safe for which tool, how enterprise licences differ from free accounts, and what extra rules apply inside free zones such as DIFC or ADGM. I build these boundaries into the hands-on work rather than leaving them for a separate compliance slide at the end.
Should a Dubai government team use the Dubai AI Academy or a private generative AI trainer?
They do different jobs, and many entities use both. The Dubai AI Academy focuses on leadership and civil service programmes at scale, while a private trainer can build sessions around one department’s own documents, tools and approval process. Decide whether you need broad awareness or applied skills on specific workflows, then choose accordingly.
Can one generative AI programme cover staff in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah?
Yes. Most providers here deliver across the Emirates, either on site at each office or as live online sessions with a shared follow-up. For multi-site rollouts I usually suggest an in-person kick-off at the main office, then online labs grouped by role, so finance in Abu Dhabi and sales in Dubai each get examples that match their work.

There is no single figure. Cost depends on group size, number of days, how much is customised to your documents, and whether delivery is on site or online.
