Ranking is editorial opinion. We weighed depth of AI content, the standing of the certificate, how much real teaching time you get, transparency on fees and dates, and fit for the people who usually search for this: final-year students, recent graduates and working professionals in Pune’s IT and manufacturing belts. No provider paid to be listed, and we publish no ratings, placement figures or salary claims.

Three routes

Full-time, university or part-time: the real choice behind “AI course in Pune”

Pune has a government computing centre, two public universities and a dense ring of private institutes, so one search returns a six-month full-time programme, a one-year diploma and a weekend class. Decide the route first.

Full-time government programmes (entries 1, 5)

  • C-DAC’s post-graduate certificate programmes, 24 weeks of daily classes
  • Admission through the C-CAT entrance test, then centre allotment by rank
  • ₹1.15 lakh to ₹1.5 lakh plus GST
  • Not compatible with a full-time job

University diplomas (entries 2, 3)

  • COEP Technological University and Savitribai Phule Pune University
  • One year, with a written test or eligibility screening
  • ₹1.75 lakh to ₹2.5 lakh
  • Annual intakes, so the timing matters

Part-time and classroom institutes (entries 6-10)

  • SCDL online, plus SEED, BIA, 3RI and SevenMentor classrooms
  • Three to six months, often with weekend batches
  • Most do not publish fees, so ask for a written quote

In-house team training (entry 4)

  • A trainer working with your team on its own files and tools
  • At your office in Hinjewadi, Kharadi or Baner, or online
  • Hours or days, not months
The list

Top 10 AI courses in Pune, reviewed one by one

Each entry covers what you learn, who it suits, pros and watch-outs, fee, length and certificate, with a link to the provider’s own page. Public institutes come first, then the part-time and classroom options.

Hitesh Motwani: live AI training for Pune teams

Best for: teams who want AI working in their daily jobs, not a diploma

This is live corporate training, not a diploma, so it sits at number four. If you want a qualification for your own career, the C-DAC, COEP and SPPU programmes above are the better answer. Where this earns its place is with teams in Pune’s IT parks, auto and engineering firms, pharma companies and shared-service centres. People bring their own emails, reports, spreadsheets, test cases and decks, build the workflow in the session and leave with something they use the next morning. Across a team, that saved time compounds and work moves faster.

Engineering teams work on Claude Code and AI agents; business teams on ChatGPT, Claude, Microsoft Copilot and Gemini; leaders on where AI pays off and what the risks are. Sessions run at your office by arrangement or live online.

By area

AI classes in Pune by area: where each course meets

Pune traffic makes location matter. A daily full-time programme in Pashan is a very different commitment for someone in Wagholi than for someone in Aundh, and the four C-DAC big-data centres are spread from Hinjewadi to Nigdi. The part-time courses are easier: most stream their classes, so the timetable matters more than the address.

Fees and time

AI course fees in Pune, and what the time really costs

Published fees run from ₹15,000 at SCDL to ₹2,50,000 at COEP. GST totals are our arithmetic from the fees shown. SEED, BIA, 3RI and SevenMentor do not publish fees on their course pages, so they are not in the table. For full-time programmes, the bigger cost is often six months without a salary.

Ask before you pay

  • Is the programme full-time, part-time or truly weekend-only?
  • When does the next batch start, and when is the entrance test?
  • Who teaches: faculty, industry trainers or recorded content?
  • What exactly does the certificate say, and who issues it?

Ways to cut the cost

  • Choose C-DAC’s online mode if you do not need the classroom
  • Ask your employer: many Pune IT and engineering firms fund certifications
  • Start with a free course (see our free AI courses with a certificate)
  • For a whole team, one in-house programme usually costs less per head
Syllabus checklist

What a good AI course should cover in 2026

Many Pune syllabi still start with two months of classic machine learning and leave generative AI to the last fortnight. That is fine for a data science job, but not if you want to build or use AI agents. Use this checklist on any course, including the ones above.

Foundations that last

  • Python, statistics and data handling
  • How machine learning models are trained and evaluated
  • What large language models can and cannot do
  • Spotting made-up facts in AI output

Current GenAI skills

  • RAG: answering from your own documents
  • AI agents, tool use and MCP
  • Evaluations and guardrails
  • A capstone on a realistic business problem

Working safely

  • What data may go into which tool
  • India’s DPDP Act and client confidentiality
  • Human review before anything ships
  • Recording what the AI did and why
How to choose

How to choose an AI course in Pune for your stage of career

Three questions settle most decisions: can you stop working for six months, do you need a university or government name on the certificate, and are you learning for yourself or for a team?

If you are learning for your career

  • Final-year students and recent graduates who can go full-time: C-DAC PGCP-AI, or PGCP-BDA for data roles
  • Graduates who want a one-year diploma: COEP or SPPU, timed to their annual intake
  • Working professionals, non-technical: SCDL’s three-month certificate
  • Working developers: a weekend classroom course such as 3RI or BIA, after checking fees in writing

If you are buying for a team

  • Diplomas suit a few future specialists, not whole teams
  • Look for practice on your own documents, code and tools
  • Ask how client data and confidentiality are handled
  • Measure results in hours saved on real tasks, not attendance

Is C-DAC worth it?

For graduates who can commit full-time, it offers a deep syllabus at a moderate fee and a name Pune employers know. It is not a job guarantee, and the entrance test and full-time load are real barriers.

Classroom or online?

Classrooms help if you need structure and a peer group. If your commute from Wakad or Kharadi eats two hours, the live online option of the same course is usually the better choice.

The case for live team training

Most of the value of AI at work comes from small, repeated tasks: a weekly report, a test plan, a supplier email. Teams get there faster when a trainer helps them pick the right tasks and build on their own work.

If you would rather hire a trainer than take a course, see our separate list of generative AI trainers in Pune, or ask about a session for your team.

Sample plan

An 8-week plan before you pick a Pune programme

About three to four hours a week, alongside college or a job. It costs nothing and it tells you which route, if any, is worth paying for.

1

Weeks 1-2: Use AI on your own work

Pick three real tasks, such as a report, a long email thread and a spreadsheet, and do them with ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot or Gemini. Note where the output needed fixing.

2

Weeks 3-4: Refresh the basics

If you are aiming at C-DAC or a university diploma, revise Python, statistics and aptitude. If not, take a free prompting course and redo your three tasks.

3

Weeks 5-6: Build one small thing

Build a tiny RAG app over a few PDFs, or a no-code automation that saves you an hour a week. This tells you whether you enjoy building.

4

Weeks 7-8: Decide and apply

Pick your route: C-DAC (admissions for the February batch open in November), a university diploma for the next academic year, a part-time course, or live training for your team.

FAQ

AI courses in Pune: questions answered

For graduates who can study full-time, C-DAC ACTS’s Post Graduate Certificate Programme in Artificial Intelligence at Pashan is the strongest choice: 24 weeks, about 1,200 hours and ₹1,50,000 plus GST, with admission through C-CAT. For a one-year university diploma, compare COEP Technological University and SPPU. Working professionals on a budget can start with SCDL’s three-month Certificate in Generative AI and Automation at ₹15,000.

Published fees range from ₹15,000 (SCDL, online) to ₹2,50,000 (COEP’s one-year diploma). C-DAC’s AI programme costs ₹1,50,000 plus GST in classroom mode, and SPPU lists about ₹1,75,000. Several private institutes, including SEED, BIA, 3RI and SevenMentor, do not publish fees on their course pages, so ask for a written quote.

C-DAC’s PG Diploma in Artificial Intelligence (PG-DAI) is now listed as the Post Graduate Certificate Programme in Artificial Intelligence (PGCP-AI). C-DAC says it is being upgraded to a 1,200-hour, 24-week, 40-credit programme, with NSQF alignment and NCVET approval under process. In Pune it runs at C-DAC ACTS, Innovation Park, Pashan.

Through the C-CAT common admission test. C-DAC programmes start in February and August, and the admission process opens in November and May for those batches. Centres are allotted by rank and preference, so you may not get your first-choice Pune centre. Check eligibility first: PGCP-AI asks for 60% in a qualifying degree.

Yes, but not C-DAC’s programmes, which are full-time. Part-time options include SCDL’s online certificate and weekend or evening batches at private institutes such as 3RI, BIA and SevenMentor. Check the weekly hours against your shift pattern before paying.

Yes. 3RI Technologies and SevenMentor list weekend batches, and BIA streams its classroom sessions. SCDL is fully online and self-scheduled within its three-month window.

No course can guarantee a job or a salary. C-DAC and the universities have long relationships with Pune employers, and private institutes advertise placement assistance, but judge every course by its syllabus, the projects you will build and its fee transparency rather than placement claims.

For freshers who can study full-time, C-DAC’s PGCP-AI or PGCP-BDA, or a one-year diploma at COEP or SPPU. Freshers who want to test their interest first can start with free courses or a short classroom course before committing a lakh or more.

Yes. SCDL’s Certificate in Generative AI and Automation is business-level and no-code, and most everyday AI at work with ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot or Gemini needs no programming. The C-DAC, COEP, SPPU and builder courses all expect or teach Python.
